I am a lawyer, writer, musician, and jill of all trades in Chicago, Illinois. I grew up in Binghamton, New York. I have made my home in Chicago since 2000 when I moved here to attend the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. After graduating from college with a BSJ and an English minor, I went to work as an editor at InsideCounsel magazine, a national trade publication for in-house attorneys. That was a great job for a lot of reasons, including that I met my awesome husband Mark there. While working as a writer and editor, I attended the John Marshall Law School as an evening student. I earned my JD in 2008, and worked for three years as a civil rights attorney at a small firm in Chicago. I opened my own firm in 2011. I represent victims of employment discrimination and police misconduct, and love what I do for a living. I am also an incurable dabbler with numerous hobbies. These include playing guitar, writing music, sewing and making crafts, running, bicycling, and web design. I am an avid reader and an active fan of rock and roll music. My band is called Love and Radiation. I also continue to work as a freelance writer and editor for several legal industry clients and the occasional consumer publication.
